Which top-of-the-line Toyota hybrid model gains all-wheel drive?

Are used electric vehicle prices calming down from record highs?

Here’s our look back at the week inside out – right here at Green Car Reports—for the week ending October 21, 2022.

In a 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid Review, we found this model to be the brand’s best gas-powered SUV. It is spacious, comfortable, well equipped, responsive and excellent value for money. However, Honda is touting it as a connector for future EVs, and the newly added amplified engine sounds and artificial “changes” don’t speak for that.

This week marked the official introduction of many upcoming electric vehicles, some of them in the context of the Paris auto show.

Apart from that, there were two big debuts at GM. The automaker on Thursday unveiled the launch version of the 2024 GMC Sierra electric, its full-size electric truck, in its most luxurious Denali Edition 1 form. With a price tag of around $107,000 and an EPA range of at least 400 miles in some trims, it takes flight on luxury Denali cachet. of GMC rather than the brand’s work truck roots. GM also revealed the 2024 Cadillac Celestial. As a $300,000 electric flagship for the brand, it looks more like Rolls-Royce than Cadillac, and it’s slated for special production techniques 3D-printed at GM’s technology center.

After a decade of teasing, Rolls-Royce has rolled out its first electric car for productionthe Spectre, which is expected to ship in late 2023. While it lives up to the brand’s tradition of excess — two doors, a long, plush, custom hood, and nearly 18 feet long — it manages a much better efficiency than electric megatrucks like the GMC Hummer EV.

The 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV makes its debut in Paris. It shares some core components with the EQE luxury sedan and is smaller and lighter than the EQS SUV, though that may not translate to more range. The EQE SUV uses a smaller 90.6 kWh battery, but can still exceed 300 miles of EPA range in some trims.

The Lexus UX300e sees its range increased, up to 280 miles according to European WLTP standards, with the addition of a larger 72.8 kWh battery. That’s the same battery size as the next US-bound Lexus RZ, although that doesn’t seem to make the UX 300e any more likely for the US.

Also at the Paris Motor Show, Jeep revealed more about its Avenger electric compact crossover that’s due for Europe and some Asian markets from next year – and he’s teased a 4×4 concept version that could add the expected off-road capability. Slightly smaller than the Renegade, the Avenger is unlikely for the US simply because of its size.

This week a refresh 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid Sedan the composition has been detailed. It loses mpg but gains in performance, technical features and available all-wheel drive. And from a practical standpoint, that leaves little incentive to opt for the more expensive Prius hatchback.

The 2023 Kia Niro Electric starts at $40,745, approaching the base price of the larger EV6 but beating it in the range. However, it starts nearly $20,000 more than the Chevy Bolt EUV when considering GM EV tax credit eligibility.

EPA efficiency and range numbers increased overall 2023 Porsche Taycan rangedue to a number of on-going modifications, a combination of hardware and software, for this model which is still over-delivered, as we have found, within the real-world range.
