EV conversion specialist Electrofit has unveiled its first electric crate motor. The CM100KW1 is a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMS) that includes an integrated inverter designed to reduce cost and complexity.

The motor can be used to drive an existing gearbox or can be hooked up to an OEM single speed transmission. The configurable OEM motor and inverter assembly comes complete with a component kit including power cable (500mm long), communication cable and coolant hose connectors.

The CM100KW1 features an input voltage of 280-420V, a power rating of 50kW continuous or 100-150 peak; and motor torque of 260 Nm. The maximum motor speed is 14,000 rpm and the maximum efficiency speed is 9,800 rpm. The unit measures 380x330x370 mm and weighs 54 kg.

A 150 kW version is also available.

Electrofit can also supply a matched OEM single-speed transmission that is designed to synchronize perfectly with the engine. The combined engine and transmission deliver 260Nm of torque in a front-wheel-drive configuration.

Delivery is available worldwide.

“Electrofit is a division of AEL, which has over 20 years of experience integrating genuine OEM parts into bespoke applications and solutions,” the company says. “With this proven integration expertise, Electrofit can provide the complete solution to enable the installation of an OEM motor and inverter in sports cars, classic cars or commercial vehicles, making us the perfect choice for small or niche vehicle manufacturers who need electric vehicle solutions.
