Entergy Services LLC has selected GridUnitcloud-based interconnect lifecycle management software product to streamline the process of interconnecting distributed energy resources. Entergy provides electricity to approximately 3 million customers through five operating companies in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.

GridUnity’s platform was selected to simplify and accelerate the process of adding distributed energy resources, including solar power and energy storage, to the grid. The GridUnity platform provides the flexibility and scalability to manage the full lifecycle of the interconnection process and will enable standardized automation across jurisdictions, resulting in a consistent experience for all five utilities. Entergy and their respective clients.

With the GridUnity tool, applicants receive immediate, automated feedback if an application is incomplete, ensuring that all submitted applications meet established standards. Entergy staff will now be able to review and respond to submitted requests in less time than before, providing guidance throughout the rest of the interconnection process. Using the GridUnity tool will create a more transparent, near real-time interconnect queue, allowing Entergy engineers and other employees involved in the interconnect process to spend more time responding to higher value-added customer needs.

“Over the past five years, through our work with many utilities, we have been able to perfect our platform to perform significantly better than legacy tools and processes,” said Brian Fitzsimons, CEO of GridUnity. “Our goal is to help drive the industry forward through technological innovation that enables increased penetration of distributed energy resources. The ability to streamline interconnection processes is one of the keys to unlocking the future of energy. »
