A car is a big investment. No car is particularly cheap. That you save and buy a vehicle directly or take out a loan or a financing plan car interest rate, you’ll want to make sure you’re getting what you pay for. The first step towards this is finding the best car to meet your needs. One person’s perfect car might be another’s nightmare. We all have different requirements and preferences, so it’s important to be logical and practical when choosing your car. This will help you get the most out of it and ensure that it’s something that makes your daily life easier rather than harder. Here are some areas to focus on and links to our tests of some representative vehicles to help get you started on the right track!
Cut

First, consider the size. Of course, two-seater sports cars may look good. But will you ever need to be able to carry more than one passenger? Will you use the car to go to the store and do your shopping? Or will you be driving it to an airport one day and need to be able to store a suitcase in the back? Size really is an important factor for everyone. A sports car will be ideal for one person but quite impractical for another. A van will be ideal for someone but way too big for someone else!
Doors
The number of doors on a vehicle can also impact whether or not it will work for you. If you rarely have more than one passenger, or if a passenger can easily fit in the back of a car without the extra doors in the back, a two or three door might be right for you. If you have a baby, it will be a nightmare, as you will struggle to get the little one in and out of his car seat on a daily basis.
Propulsion
Some of us don’t care what kind of fuel a car uses as long as we know what to put in when we fill up. Others of us take a more environmentally conscious approach and would prefer a electric car or one hybrid – you can discover how hybrid cars work here.
Additional features or “Add-ons”

If you think you can’t live without extra accessories, it’s important to find a car that can provide them. Things like rear parking sensors, USB charging ports, heated side mirrors and more may be important to you! Our trials always give you an overview of the features available at each trim level of a model.
Cost
Ultimately, much of the decision making will come down to cost. When buying a car, you need to go for something that will fit within your budget. Be reasonable and don’t overspend.
These are just a few different factors that could affect the type of car you eventually choose. Take them into consideration to help you find the ideal car the first time!
