Rewards for those who help the most people
Have you ever noticed that non-profits looking to tug at your heart will show you a starving child or an injured animal, but they won’t show you a village full of people or an entire pack of animals suffering from drought? or any other disease. A super interesting fact that these nonprofits know is that most people are much more capable of processing the idea of helping an individual than helping a community…or the world. And that’s how those who choose to help someone (via tutoring or counseling, for example) often get more credit in terms of social recognition than those who help…everyone.
It’s a bit fucked up, isn’t it? But there are a lot of things in human nature that are kind of messed up, so what do we do about it? Well, that’s why I was so excited to meet the CEO of The Cleanie Awards. Since 2018, the Cleanie Awards have recognized those who put the rest of the world first and continue to grow in many metrics, including award categories as well as the attention they receive.
Award categories include Company of the Year, Best Corporate Sustainability Program, Investment Leader, Best Cleantech Media Company, Best School, and more, including many individual award winners the best in the industry.
