At Iron Edison Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, we have bolstered our Spanish support by hiring Jon Marcantoni as Technical Support Specialist. Iron Edison sees support for the Spanish language as integral to the growth of the island nation.
The owner of Iron Edison Battery Company recently returned from the Renewable Energy Conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The conference brought together more than ten thousand people eager to learn more about residential renewable energies. During the conference, Brandon Williams of Iron Edison was invited on stage to present information on the design of solar systems and batteries.
“I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to share my experience in the field of batteries and solar energy with the people of Puerto Rico. While attending the conference, I met so many people genuinely interested in the benefits of solar energy. Solar and Renewable Energy Puerto Rico’s electric utility has significant challenges providing consistent electricity to its customers, and a solar battery system is the perfect solution to inconsistent power from the utility grid. »
At Iron Edison Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, we have bolstered our Spanish support by hiring Jon Marcantoni as Technical Support Specialist. Iron Edison sees support for the Spanish language as integral to the growth of the island nation.
Jon Marcantoni of Iron Edison explains, “I’m from Fajardo, PR and I’m well aware of the energy challenges facing the island. It’s exciting to work with a company like Iron Edison that seeks to serve the people of Puerto Rico. thanks to a continuous commitment that allows us to best meet the needs of our customers.”
Puerto Rico is particularly well suited for renewable energy projects that incorporate solar power and batteries. Electrical infrastructure was significantly damaged following Hurricane Maria in 2017. Additionally, a 2020 earthquake in the town of Ponce damaged a power plant that was a major source of generation for the entire island . Many Puerto Rican residents, especially those in rural areas, are still affected by the challenges of rebuilding the power grid.
A renewable energy system powered by solar and battery power is capable of providing constant electricity to a home throughout the day and night. Unlike a direct-to-grid solar system, which will shut down if the grid is interrupted, a battery-powered system can operate completely independent of the power grid. With a battery inverter, solar energy has priority over external sources.
Iron Edison specializes in the supply of residential and off-grid batteries as well as the design of solar systems and inverters. For most projects, we recommend the advanced lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery that is maintenance-free and 48VDC compatible.
Since 2019, Iron Edison has been selling batteries on the island and working with WEC (Wholesale Electric Caribe) to install and support our systems. Going forward, we seek to diversify our presence by increasing relationships with vendors, organizations, and individuals who seek to make solar energy accessible and affordable for the Puerto Rican people.
