Two roads next to St George Park will be closed for public works. Chalks Road will close from October 31 to December 9 and Roseberry Park will close from November 21 to December 23, Wales & West Utilities said.

The company says the road closures will mean £110,000 of work can take place to ensure gas can continue to flow safely and reliably to homes and businesses. Motorists have been asked to allow extra travel time with divisions in place agreed with Bristol City Council.

Wales & West Utilities supplies power to customers in the South West. The company’s Simon Lee said: “While most of the gas network is underground and out of sight, it plays a central role in the daily lives of people in Bristol. Whether it’s heating your home, cooking dinner with the family, or taking a hot bath, we understand how important it is for your gas supply to be safe and reliable and available when you need it.

“This work is critical to keeping gas flowing to local homes and businesses today, and to making sure the gas grid is ready to transport hydrogen and biomethane, so we can all play. our role in a green future.

“We will work in the safest and fastest way possible to complete the work, while minimizing inconvenience to local people and road users.”
